Samsung Canada has signed-on as the official home appliance sponsor of Tough Mudder, a series of endurance races consisting a 16-kilometer run over rugged terrain interspersed with military-style obstacles. Samsung will begin a promotion called "All Things Clean" at the first Toronto Tough Mudder event, which will take place in Barrie, ON on Aug. 18 and 19. The promotion will make use of a "PowerFoam Challenge Station" positioned at the end of the obstacle course. Participants will be invited to use the station to clean up after the event. In addition, Samsung will release 30- and 90-second online commercials on Aug. 1 and will conduct in-store promotions at various Future Shop locations. "This partnership is a natural fit for Tough Mudder and Samsung Canada," said Dan Weinberg, director of strategic partnerships at Tough Mudder. "The innovative technology is going to take post-event clean-up to a new level. After our participants conquer the Tough Mudder course, they will now be able to conquer all the mud that comes with it, thanks to Samsung Canada." The 2012 Tough Mudder series will include 35 events in the US, UK, Australia and Canada.
