Virgin Mobile begins On the House promotion

Virgin Mobile Canada has begun a new campus-oriented campaign called "On The House." The initiative takes the form of a search for the "best university or college group in Canada." Students can enter online by creating a profile at <http://virginmobile.campusperks.ca>. Entrants must then use social media services to attract votes. Voting will take place until Oct. 16. Finalists will then compete in a contest called the "Campus Race," during which teams will attempt a series of challenges. One winning group from each finalist school will receive prize packages worth approximately $5,000. The grand prize winner will receive a prize package worth approximately $10,000. "We're all about giving our Virgin Mobile members awesome benefits, so we've created a program for students to bring more benefits to their members," said Andrew Bridge, the company's brand and communications director. "Whether it's sports, academics, or just plain old fun, the students who step up for our On The House challenge have a shot to show off why they're the best and walk away with prizes and cash to prove it."
