Regional Tourism Organization 7 breaks first campaign
By Adnews Staff
Regional Tourism Organization 7, which encompasses Bruce, Grey and Simcoe Counties in Ontario, has begun its first ever marketing campaign. The initiative focuses on the histories of the counties and their namesakes Sir James Bruce, Charles the second Earl of Grey and Lt. Governor John Graves Simcoe, along with headlines that refer to the seasonal activities available in the region. The four-week campaign is aimed primarily at consumers in the region, in the Greater Toronto Area and in southwestern Ontario. It consists of newspaper, television, radio, billboard and online advertising, as well as a website at <http://www.brucegreysimcoe.com> and social media activities. A more extensive winter campaign will follow this effort, which will run through March 2012. "Social media plays a large role in the campaign, allowing for quick and relevant impressions that have the potential to reach thousands of Ontarians," said the organization's marketing director Bill Sullivan. "It also provides our tourism owners and operators with a powerful medium to promote their business and services."
