Out-of-home media company Newad will install 550 new digital advertising displays in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary over the next several weeks. The displays will be placed in participating bars and restaurants. According to the company, the new boards will increase its total advertising exposure to 1.1 million impressions nationally per week. Newad also plans to install an additional 3,500 digital displays in these cities over the next three years. "The digital boards, with 22-inch high-resolution LCD screens and full stereo sound, broadcast 15- to 60-second-long audio and video loops almost instantaneously," said Philippe Marchessault, executive vice-president of operations, development and innovation for indoor advertising at Newad. "These loops will be interspaced with exclusive content clips adapted to the target market’s lifestyle and interests, which include music, videos, fashion, and upcoming events. The boards can be programmed with RSS feeds or HTML to integrate new information or update campaigns."
