Newad displays work of contest-winning artists

Montreal-based out-of-home media company Newad has begun displaying artwork from its recent Art Here contest. The works have been installed on some of the company's advertising inventory on college and university campuses, restaurants, bars and fitness centres. The art was created by 12 artists and submitted online at <http://www.arthere.ca> over the course of the last year as part of an initiative by Newad to promote local art. The winners were selected by a panel of judges. "The success of this contest is dependant on the quality and the quantity of the entries received," said Marie-Christine Fournier, supervisor of marketing and communications at Newad. "The turnout has exceeded our expectations and we were impressed by the caliber of the artwork submitted by artists from all the provinces. The final choice was not easy." The contest continues online.
