Planned Parenthood Toronto readies campaign aimed at young men

Planned Parenthood Toronto will launch a new campaign called "Give a Sh*t" on July 22 intended to promote awareness of young men's health issues. The campaign encourages young men use condoms and get regular tests for sexually transmitted infections. "At Planned Parenthood, we can see a direct effect between education and a shift in young men's attitudes toward safer sex and testing for STIs and HIV," said Saad Hussain, the organization's community health services director. "The Young Men's Peer Project has been successful at motivating young men to take better care of themselves thereby improving their sexual health outcomes." The organization will begin the campaign with a special event at Harbourfront in Toronto. The free youth event will include musical performances by Blue Sky DJ Service, T-West and Matte Black. Planned Parenthood will also distribute campaign materials to other organizations that promote men's health.
