International news: Kenya Tourist Board hires Myriad Travel Marketing

The Kenya Tourist Board has retained Myriad Travel Marketing of Manhattan Beach, CA to handle its marketing and public relations activities in the United States. The account was previously held by Carlson Destination Marketing Services, which was acquired by Myriad last year. According to the company, approximately 100,000 travelers from the US visited Kenya in 2009, representing a 26% increase from 2008. "Having worked in the African market for over 15 years, we are excited to be working on the continent again," said Al Merschen, managing partner at Myriad. "Kenya, best known for its wildlife safaris, has so much to offer. We look forward to working with all of the industry in continuing the successful marketing of the country."
