TD TESTS INTERNET PURCHASING PROGRAM

Toronto Dominion Bank began testing its electronic commerce program for on-line merchants last week. The program uses Open Market Inc. technology which allows users to make secure credit card purchases over the Internet. The program will be tested for three months. TD merchants participating in the pilot include Statistics Canada, Nuvo Network Management and ICE Integrated Communications & Entertainment. Advertising will begin when the service is launched at a future date. Advertising for TD is done by TBWA Chiat/Day, Grey Advertising, Gee, Jeffery & Partners Advertising, Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising and McManus & Associates, all of Toronto.
