WEB COMPANIES JOINS FORCES

Clickthrough of Toronto, the Internet ad representative unit of Planet Genesis, has teamed up with NetCount of Los Angeles to offer Web site measurement research and services. Thanks to this alliance, Clickthrough can now determine the level of traffic at sites beyond just the number of hits. The agency can now measure how many pages of information were requested by a visitor, how many pages were successfully transferred, the average length time spent on a particular page and which pages are the site's most popular pages. The AdCount service will be available later this year. It is designed to measure both exposures and clickthroughs, the actual incidence of the user reaching the advertiser's Web site. Clickthrough began operating last month.
