Groupe Aeroplan readies Italian loyalty program

Groupe Aeroplan of Montreal will launch a new loyalty program in Italy in March. The program, called Nectar Italia, will be operated in association with Oney Banque Accord, which will hold a 25% ownership stake. Participants in the program will be able to collect loyalty points at approximately 5,000 Italian retail outlets. "Millions of Italian consumers will soon be able to benefit from collecting and redeeming points through partners across a wide range of retail outlets," said Rupert Duchesne, president and CEO of Groupe Aeroplan. "As Italy is one of the world's largest economies, with 58 million consumers and a high penetration of loyalty programs, there are significant opportunities for further growth of the program."
