Whirlpool Canada begins Great Green Challenge

Whirlpool Canada has begun a new new campaign called the "Great Green Challenge" to promote its Energy Star-qualified appliances. The initiative will follow the activities of three families who will attempt to reduce their energy usage. Each family has been given a number of Whirlpool appliances. The family members will write about their activities online at <http://www.greatgreenchallenge.ca> until Feb. 5. "Every day, Canadians from coast to coast struggle with reducing their home's environmental impact," said Warrington Ellacott of Whirlpool Canada. "We all hear that taking small simple actions like replacing light bulbs, turning off lights and choosing qualified appliances can make a difference. We wanted to demonstrate just how big a difference those actions can actually make." The campaign and its supporting public relations were developed by Harbinger Communications of Toronto. Bing Creative handled the website construction.
