Mercedes-Benz sends Smart account to BBDO

Mercedes-Benz Canada has retained BBDO Toronto to handle its Smart brand of vehicles. The agency won the account in a competitive review involving two other firms which have also done work for the automaker in the past. BBDO Toronto has previously created campaigns for several Mercedes-Benz models, including the GLK, E, M, B and C Classes. The new assignment includes mass marketing, direct marketing, event marketing and digital work for the Smart Fortwo and Brabus models. "We're confident in BBDO Toronto's marketing and execution expertise because of their performance on the Mercedes-Benz business over the last year," said Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and CEO, of Mercedes-Benz Canada. "The pitch convinced us that BBDO was the best choice for Smart too. The work was intelligent and, we believe demonstrated great insight into the potential of the smart brand."
