House & Home Media readies new Quebec magazine

Toronto-based House & Home Media will launch a French-language magazine called Maison & Demeure in Quebec in January 2009. The monthly magazine will combine national content from Canadian House & Home magazine with original articles about designers, architects, stylists and chefs from Quebec. The company expects a paid circulation of 27,000 in its first year, increasing to 58,000 in 2010. "I can't believe how positive and receptive the Quebec market has been to our plans to launch this new magazine," said general manager Kirby Miller. "The support of the advertising community has surpassed even our expectations." The company will also launch a French-language website at Maisonetdemeure.com in January.
