Ontario workplace safety board breaks new campaign

The Ontario Workplace Safety & Insurance Board has released two television commercials using the tagline, "There really are no accidents." The ads, developed by DraftFCB of Toronto, graphically depict workplace accidents. The first shows a welder being blown off of a building by an explosion. The second shows a chef being burned by a pot of hot liquid. The ads, which have also been posted online, direct viewers to a website at <http://www.prevent-it.ca>.  "Some people may feel they're horrific, but what's truly horrific is the number of people that were killed last year in Ontario because of work related incidents," said writer Chris Taciuk. The commercials are the first phase of a campaign that will include newspaper, transit, radio, online, magazine and outdoor advertising.
