Intel of Canada has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the World Series of Video Games, a video game tournament that will take place in Toronto from Aug. 24 to 26. This will be the first time the event has been held in Canada. Gamers will compete for US$70,000 in prizes. The computers used in the competition will make use of Intel microprocessors. The company will also host an exhibit area at the show where visitors can play games on Intel-based machines. Intel also sponsors Team EG, a professional Canadian gaming team that will compete in the tournament. The event will be conducted in association with Fan Expo Canada. On Aug. 24, Intel will launch a new website aimed at video game players called GameFaces.ca.
