Corus Entertainment to buy CIGR-FM

Corus Entertainment has reached an agreement with Groupe Génération Rock purchase radio station CIGR-FM in Sherbrooke, QC for approximately $1.1 million. The deal is subject to approval by the CRTC. Corus already operates news and talk station CHLT-AM in the city. This station will move to the FM band at the end of the month. “Corus Entertainment is committed to strengthening our radio presence in Quebec," said John Cassaday, president and CEO of the company. “The addition of Génération Rock is consistent with our growth strategy and will now offer a companion to our heritage news-talk station.”
