Rare Method buys Blain Olsen White Gurr Advertising

Calgary-based interactive agency Rare Method has purchased Blain Olsen White Gurr Advertising of Salt Lake City. Under the terms of the deal, Rare Method will acquire all common shares of the company from three shareholders, making Blain Olsen White Gurr a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rare Method. The total maximum sale price has been set at US$1.6 million. “This deal is an important step in our plan to increase our presence in the western United States through strategic acquisitions,” said Rare Method president Roger Jewett. “Our plan is to develop a network of offices that will include rapidly growing cities such as Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Denver.” Clients of Blain Olsen White Gurr include Telcordia Technologies, 3M Health Information Systems, the Utah State Fair, Thanksgiving Point and the Salt Lake City Convention and Visitors Bureau. The agency has 23 employees and had annual revenues of US$2.9 million in 2006.
