The Style Council of Canada has hired Toronto-based Bamboo as the agency of record for its upcoming Toronto Week of Style event. The event, which will take place from May 23 to 26, is intended to promote creators of fashion, cosmetics, hair care, liquor, cars and other lifestyle products. The agency received the account without a review. As part of its compensation, Bamboo will receive a stake in the event. Bamboo senior partner Zaigham Zulqernain will become executive producer of the event, while creative director Steve Thomson will be producer and creative director. Simeon Tse, the agency’s director of client services, will be producer and technical director. Director of national campaigns Emeka Chase will also be a producer. “Zaigham has been involved with us from day one,” says Graham Pace, head of the advisory committee for the Toronto Week of Style. “He has been a great help during the development phase of the Style Council of Canada due to the wealth of knowledge he has in the both the cultural sector and the pop culture arena. To hire Bamboo was a natural progression of the relationship.” Bamboo will handle the branding, development, promotion and production of the event.
