Zip.ca holds ten millionth request contest

Online DVD rental service Zip.ca has begun a contest tied to the arrival of its ten millionth video request. The company expects to reach this total in early March. In the meantime, the firm has placed a counter on its website to track the number of requests received. The customer who places the ten millionth title on his or her request list will receive a ten years of free rentals from Zip.ca and a $1,000 gift certificate from Best Buy. “Ten million ZipList requests is a great milestone,” said Rick Anderson, president and CEO of Zip.ca. “Zip.ca has come a long way in the three years since our launch and we want to share our excitement with our members. We’re happy to be providing Canadians with the films they want to see and some member is going to win the chance to enjoy that for free for a decade.”
