Cranium readies Pop 5 street promotion in Toronto

Game company Cranium will conduct a street promotion during the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival to promote its new pop culture trivia game Pop 5. A group of promotional workers called the “Pop 5 Party Patrol” will offer pedestrians in downtown Toronto the opportunity to try the game and will distribute coupons for a discount on its purchase. The group will also conduct play sessions for an hour each day from Sept. 7 to 16 at two downtown Chapters/Indigo locations. As part of the Canadian launch of the game, the company has also created a set of additional cards featuring questions about Canadian pop culture which can be downloaded from the game’s website at <http://www.pop5.com>. An online version of the game will debut on MSN.com on Sept. 6. To play, participants must upload videos of themselves acting out the game’s clues. The street campaign is being managed by Boom Marketing, while Edelman is handling public relations.
