INFOMERCIAL COMPANY HIRES PR FIRM

The Communications Group of Toronto was hired by Channel 500 Partnership of Toronto last week after winning a competition with two other public relations firms. The Communications Group won because "of their professionalism and their ability to quickly respond to our needs," account executive Risa Lean told Adnews yesterday. Channel 500 is a company that specializes in electronic sales pitches. It was handling PR in-house but decided an agency could do a better job increasing the company's visibility, Lean said. Channel 500 creates television infomercials and home shopping programs, and sets up systems to market goods and services on the Internet. It has done work for Ford Canada, Rogers Cantel, IBM Canada and Mattel.
