Beijing Olympics committee hires Hill & Knowlton

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad has retained Hill & Knowlton as its communications agency. The committee began its agency search in February 2005. Eight global communications firms participated in the process. Hill & Knowlton will implement a communications plan for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The assignment will include event support, media relations and overall brand communications. “Hill & Knowlton will partner with us to help provide world-class services to the media and communicate the vision of the Beijing Olympic Games,” said Jiang Xiaoyu, executive vice-president of the committee.  “Their expertise and capabilities will complement the resources we already have.” Hill & Knowlton’s previous Olympic experience includes work for the International Olympic Committee and on the Olympic bids of the cities of Athens and London.
