Canadian Blood Services hires DDB, OMD

Canadian Blood Services of Ottawa has retained DDB Canada to handle strategic planning and advertising. The assignment includes television, radio and print advertising as well as direct and interactive marketing and creative development. In addition, OMD Canada has been hired to handle media planning and buying for Canadian Blood Services. The two agencies were selected in a two-month search process conducted by the Institute for Communications and Advertising. Both assignments are for terms of three years, beginning on April 1. "Canadian Blood Services was able to identify two strategic partners that are truly committed to our cause, who are leaders in the advertising community and have an exceptional track record in building strong brands in Canada," said Steve Harding, the organization's executive director of marketing and communications. "We very much look forward to working with DDB Canada and OMD to inspire more Canadians to share their health and vitality by becoming regular blood donors."
