Teletoon retains ThinData

Specialty television station Teletoon has retained ThinData of Toronto to handle the distribution of its electronic newsletter to viewers. ThinData will provide a system that will allow subscribers to change their profile or cancel their membership. The system will also maintain the subscriber records and report on usage. "We've established a safe community where kids can have fun through our programming and our websites," said Susan Nakhle, director of communications at Teletoon. "It was important for us to forge a relationship with a permission-based email marketing firm that shares our commitment to the confidentiality of our newsletter subscribers' information." "ThinData's customized system will make Teletoon more effective in reaching their viewer base," said Wayne Carrigan, vice-president of client strategy at ThinData. "A permission-based email strategy is important for any organization, especially one whose primary audience is young Canadians."
