Petro-Canada has signed on as the sponsor of AOL Canada's news coverage of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games. A website located at <http://www.aol.ca/turin2006> will carry news and updates from to the games. It will also include areas where visitors can track medal counts and send electronic cards to athletes. The site will also offer message boards, polls, blogs and photo galleries. Petro-Canada is an official national sponsor of the 2006 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Teams.
Montreal-based ING Insurance and ING Direct have signed a sponsorship agreement with Canada's national speed skating teams. The six-year agreement is valued at $2 million. ING and Speed Skating Canada will work together to build support for Canada's speed skaters. They will also seek to introduce speed skating into elementary schools and provide skating instruction. Speed Skating Canada is the national governing body responsible for the sport in this country.
