Corus Radio holds helicopter contest

Toronto radio station 102.1 the Edge has begun a contest to find a traffic reporter to work parent company Corus Radio's new multi-market helicopter traffic service. The first round of the "Moderately Paid Employee Contest" began on Jan. 6 and will run until Jan. 10. Entrants must submit their resumes in person at the station's studio in downtown Toronto. During the second round of the contest, audition videos of the semi-finalists will be posted to the Edge.ca website for listeners to vote on. In the final round, the contenders will be subjected to various challenges by the on-air staff of the station. A winner will be selected on Feb. 3. This winner will receive a full-time contract to produce and deliver traffic reports by helicopter to several Corus radio stations.
