50Plus to become CARP for the 50 Plus

The Toronto-based Canadian Association of Retired Persons will rebrand its magazine 50Plus in April. The name of the publication will be changed to CARP for the 50Plus in order to align the magazine more closely to the members it serves, according to the organization. The new name is intended to increase brand association among the group's members. "Having a magazine with a different name from the association it serves was a disconnect," said publisher Gord Poland. "It was very much in our best interest to connect our publication to the association. The magazine is better than ever, with s broad base of informative articles and a new section on the advocacy efforts of CARP within the pages of the magazine as well as a sharper look that appeals to a discerning audience." The association is a non-profit membership organization for people over the age of 50.
