Website roundup

Toronto-based Youth Culture Group has redesigned the website of its publication for teenage males, Fuel magazine. The modifications include a new look to better match the print magazine, quicker load times and the ability to create and personalize a user profile. The site contains feature sections from the magazine, including stories on style, technology, cars and advice. "Our research shows teen males spend two to three hours online every day and the sites they use most often provide them a combination of information, entertainment and unique user features and benefits," said Nigel Newton, vice-president of Youth Culture Group. The site, located at <http://www.fuelpowered.com>, debuted on Monday. Promotion will include contests in association with Rogers Wireless, Warner Music Canada and Sony BMG for users who register with the site.
Yahoo Canada of Toronto has constructed a new sub-site dedicated to coverage of the World Cup 2006 soccer tournament at <http://www.yahoo.ca/worldcup>. The site will carry news from the tournament, along with game results, schedules, player information, message boards, polls and other features. Globally, Yahoo is the official Web sponsor of the Federation Internationale de Football Association. The two organizations also recently relaunched the FIFAworldcup.com website for next year's competition.
