George's Cream readies new campaign

Calgary-based skin cream company George's Cream will break a new advertising campaign on Nov. 21. The initiative will consist of print ads, billboards and television commercials on The Weather Channel. This will be the first time the company has used the latter two media in its marketing efforts. "We felt strongly that the Weather Channel and billboards gave us broader national and local coverage that supplements our overall strategy of maximizing exposure with a limited budget," said Skip Gibson, the firm's vice-president of marketing and sales. "We will continue to focus on western Canada supporting our strongest markets in Alberta and BC and building our markets in Saskatchewan and Manitoba." The ads use the tagline, "Use George's! It Works!" to promote the use of the product on dry skin due to wind burn, psoriasis or eczema. The creative was produced in-house. Media planning and buying was conducted by DSA Baron of Calgary.
