The Toronto-based Advertising & Design Club of Canada held its 56th annual award show last week, recognizing exceptional work in advertising, design and interactive media. In the Radio categories, Target Marketing & Communications won a gold for an Irving Oil commercial called "Morris." Bleu Blanc Rouge also won a gold for a Fondation du Chum ad called "Give a Little." A Zig ad for Ikea called "Combo" received a gold award in the Radio Single Retail category and the Michael O'Reilly Best Copywriting award. In the Advertising Broadcast category, Rethink won gold for the Science World ad "Boardroom." A Taxi ad called "Office" for Pfizer Canada, DDB Vancouver's "Cow" for Bogart's Chophouse and Bar, Zig's "Rug" for IKEA and Rethink's "Mantra/Price" for Dose also received gold awards. Gold awards In the Print categories gold went to DDB Toronto's "Bread" for the Royal Ontario Museum, Goodgoll Vendramin "Road" for Canadian Paraplegic Association, DDB Vancouver's "Belly" for the BC Dairy Foundation, Arnold Worldwide's "Filmstrip" for Volkswagen Canada, BBDO Montreal's "Canyon/Forest" for DaimlerChrysler Canada, Rethink's "Security Glass" for Trim Line, Taxi's "Bernard Wall" for Nike, Publicis' "Please Do Not Disturb" for ESP Entertainment, and MacLaren McCann Calgary's "X-Ray" for YWCA Calgary.
