Canadian out-of-home companies form association

A group of five media companies has formed a new organization called the Out-of-Home Marketing Association of Canada. The Toronto-based association will promote the benefits and effectiveness of out-of-home media to advertisers and ad agencies. The founding companies are Astral Media Outdoor, Newad, Pattison Outdoor, Viacom Outdoor and Zoom Media. "We believe there is a need for out-of-home companies to present their collective strengths and to position out-of-home as a primary vehicle to reach consumers," said Mario Cecchini, chairman of the association and president of Zoom Media. The association will also examine ways to simplify and standardize the planning and execution of out-of-home campaigns.
