Ontario accountants distribute calendars to students

The Toronto-based Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario has undertaken a new program intended to attract young people into that profession. The organization will distribute calendars promoting the advantages of becoming a chartered accountant to 25,000 business students in Ontario during the upcoming school year. Each month in the calendar is illustrated with popular culture images and text that present chartered accountancy as a career that involves excitement, opportunity, travel and financial success. "We were looking for a fun and useful item to give students that would keep reminding them of the opportunities that come with earning a Chartered Accounting designation," said Brian Leader, the institute's vice-president of learning. "A calendar seemed perfect, but we wanted one that was both interesting and amusing enough to earn a place of honour on their walls." The institute is the qualifying and regulatory body of the 31,000 chartered accountants in Ontario.
