New global marketing director at The Economist

The Economist magazine has appointed Susan Clark to the newly-created position of global marketing director. She will be responsible for development of the publication's brand, including advertising and public relations. Clark will also oversee Economist.com, Intelligent Life magazine, and The World In magazine. She will also be responsible for circulation marketing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Clark was previously senior vice-president of marketing and sales at Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts. Prior to that, she was a partner in The Phineus Company, a New York-based marketing firm.
