J. Walter Thompson hired to launch Weekly Scoop

J. Walter Thompson of Toronto has been hired by Toronto Star Newspapers to promote the launch of its new magazine Weekly Scoop. The publication, which will carry celebrity, style and entertainment stories, will debut on Oct. 3. "The primary target for Weekly Scoop will be women age 18 to 49," said David Gibb, general manager of the agency. "As JWT has demonstrated on businesses like Kellogg's Special K, Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Aero, nobody understands women better than we do."
