Sharp renews Tennis Canada sponsorship

Sharp Electronics of Canada, based in Mississauga, has renewed its agreement with Tennis Canada to sponsor of the Rogers Cup Women's Event for a second year. The tennis tournament will take place August 13 to 21 in Toronto. Sharp will continue to be the competition's official supplier of televisions, stereos and multimedia projectors. These televisions, installed at the tournament venue, will provide live closed circuit feeds of the games. The company will also operate the Sharp Matches in Progress Centre, where spectators can check continuously updates scores and match locations. Sharp will also install large screen Aquos high-definition televisions at the Rogers Innovation Centre so that visitors to the centre can view live updates from the tournament. In addition, Sharp will donate an Aquos TV to Tennis Canada for the organization's Aces are Wild charity auction, which will support of junior tennis development in Canada. "Having Sharp back on board as a sponsor will heighten the Rogers Cup experience for our guests," said Stacey Allaster, vice-president and tournament director at Tennis Canada. "Guests will get up-to-date scores and information about world-class matches on world-class televisions."
