Kia breaks new Sorento commercial

Toronto-based Kia Canada has released a new television commercial for the Sorento sport utility vehicle. The 30-second ad, called "Spears," was created by Publicis Canada. The ad is intended to depict the vehicle as fun and adventurous. The creative shows a Sorento driving quickly through a residential area. The driver arrives at a house and hurries to the door with a worried expression on his face, fumbling with his keys. Just as the door closes behind him, several spears hit the door and stick there. The ad uses the tagline, "What adventure will you get up to?" The ad will air nationally in English and French. "Our spot's premise supposes that Sorento drivers might encounter something a little out-of-the-ordinary," said Pat Pirisi, creative director at Publicis Canada. "This type of mischief is what you would expect from a challenger brand, with a fun sense of urgency."
