Canadian Film Centre begins short film festival campaign

The Toronto-based Canadian Film Centre has begun an advertising campaign for the 2005 Worldwide Short Film Festival, which will take place from June 14 to 19. The campaign, created by Taxi, uses the same spokescharacter as last year's initiative, which was called "Ian Heidegger's Short Film Acting School." The five television commercials are intended to "satirize the excess of Hollywood and feature filmmaking." The ads are airing on MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, Bravo, Star, SexTV, BookTV, Space, and Toronto 1. They also running at Famous Players movie theatres in the Greater Toronto Area. The campaign also includes a website at <http://www.worldwideshortfilmfest.com> at which visitors can play a game based on the fictional award show depicted in the ads. Print ads are running in Eye Weekly, Time and the National Post. The effort also includes out-of-home materials and radio ads on EDGE 102.1.
