CHUM, Dominion Institute release Passages to Canada PSA

CHUM Television and The Dominion Institute have released a public service announcement intended to raise awareness of an educational initiative called "Passages to Canada." The 30-second ad, called "What's Your Story," began airing this week on CHUM specialty channels MuchMusic, Space, Star, Drive-In Classics, SexTV and FashionTelevisionChannel. It will also run on CHUM's local stations nationally in June in order to lead-up to Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27. The ad, produced in-house by CHUM, encourages viewers to read the stories of Canadian immigrants at the website <http://www.passagestocanada.com> and to add their own experiences. The ad presents Canadians of various ages, cultural backgrounds and professions in an effort to illustrate how people combine the cultures of their old and new countries, according to CHUM. The aim of the Passages to Canada initiative is to "bring Canada's story of immigration to life through storytelling," according to the institute.
