Vonage Canada of Mississauga has signed on as a sponsor of two upcoming Toronto events: the Molson Indy and the Distillery Jazz Festival. Vonage is a provider of Internet-based telephone service. These will be the company's first Canadian sponsorships. They are, according to the company, part of its plan to "aggressively market" its service in Canada. "The Distillery Jazz Festival and the Molson Indy attract outstanding audiences of diverse and tech-savvy Canadians," said Joe Parent, vice-president of marketing and business development at Vonage Canada. "Our goal is to make VoIP synonymous with Vonage. With these sponsorships we will reach Canadians who are attracted to the innovative and budget-friendly Internet telephone service that Vonage has pioneered." The Vonage logo will appear on banners and signs in the Indy the grandstand and on promotional materials for the race. Vonage will also operate a booth at the event to distribute information to attendees. In addition, the company will sponsor autograph sessions with drivers from the Champ Car World Series. The Molson Indy will take place from July 8 to 10. At the jazz festival, Vonage banners will be displayed at concert venues and the company logo will appear on advertising and promotional materials. Vonage will again operate an information booth during the event. The Distillery Jazz Festival will take place from May 20 to 29.
