LCBO resumes alcohol-free prom campaign
By Adnews Staff
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario has released a new poster campaign as part of its annual effort to encourage teenagers not to drink at their graduation parties. The poster shows two young people on their way to a prom, along with the copy, "Prom dress: $275. Tux rental: $140. Getting drunk: worthless." The concept and copy were selected in consultation with high school students and representatives from Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving. English and French versions of the poster have been distributed to all Ontario high schools. The poster will also be displayed in all LCBO retail stores during May and June. The campaign also includes information sheets for high school students with tips on keeping their graduation parties safe. The poster and tips can also be downloaded from the board's website at <http://www.lcbo.com/prom>. The site also hosts education materials aimed at teachers.
