Ultramar will begin a new television campaign in Quebec today. Developed by Palm Arnold Communication of Montreal, the creative uses comedian Pierre Verville as the oil company's spokesperson. Three 30-second French-language commercials will air in rotation. In each ad, Verville steps into the lives of various people with a microphone to ask them for comments about Ultramar and its special offers. These offers include a free newspaper with the purchase of a cup of coffee, a promotion involving the Ultramar Mastercard from National Bank and a price comparison program called "Price Check." In Atlantic Canada the company will resume its radio campaign called, "Good morning Ultramar." In this campaign a number of characters telephone the Ultramar office to complain that the company is too generous to its customers.
