Old Navy institutes First Official Day of Flip-Flops
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based clothing retailer Old Navy will conduct a promotion called "The First Official Day of Flip-Flops" on April 3, the start of Daylight Saving Time. The promotion will encourage customers to regard the day as the unofficial first day of spring, and to mark the day by wearing flip-flops. As part of the effort, the company has constructed a website at <http://www.flipahead.com> where visitors can read extracts from a book called Spring Forward: The Annual Madness of Daylight Saving Time, by Michael Downing. Old Navy will also hold a Top Flip-Flop Model Contest at its Eaton Centre store in Toronto on April 3. Entrants must submit a photograph of their feet to enter. The winner will appear in an upcoming Old Navy circular.
