Canon breaks business campaign

Canon Canada of Mississauga broke a new campaign of television and print ads yesterday to promote the company's new Business Solutions Division. This organization exists to provide Canadian business customers with a single point of contact for imaging products. The television campaign, created by DCC Communications of Toronto, consists of four commercials depicting exaggerated office situations taking place near a printer or copier. These activities are superimposed with the copy "That's your business," followed by a product shot and the line, "This is ours." "Each ad captures some of the antics that might take place at the office copier, other than the usual business of copying," said agency president Bob Shropshire. "Each spot happens at eye level to the copier, so you never see a full view of the office dwellers. In one spot we see some flirting, in another we see some dancing. The reveal is that whatever it is you happen to do be doing at the office printer is your business and the machines are our business." The are airing in French and English on specialty channels nationally. Print ads will begin today in a number of national and regional newspapers.
