Teletoon conducts three joint promotions

Specialty station Teletoon is in the middle of three joint promotions. The company began a three-week initiative with 20th Century Fox on Feb. 25 to promote the upcoming release of the movie Robots. On-air materials direct viewers to visit a special area of the Teletoon website to enter a contest. The site hosts an online game called "Repair to Win" which permits players to upgrade to a higher prize pool. Teletoon is also running a promotion with Hasbro called "Start the Game." This initiative is intended to encourage families to hold a "Family Game Night" of Monopoly, Life, Sorry, Yahtzee, Scrabble, Clue, Boggle or Payday. On-air materials will run from Feb. 21 to March 20 during the Family and Retro programming block from 6:30 to 8 pm. The ad invites viewers to visit the Teletoon website to get game night score cards and to enter a draw for a Hasbro prize pack. Finally, the station is conducting a promotion with KFC in support of its Popcorn Chicken Meal. This effort will run through the month of March during the Cinetoon programming block. The national promotion in English and French includes a sponsorship billboard, special bumpers and a commercial directing viewers to the website to enter a draw for a Sony Home Entertainment package and play a popcorn chicken game. Teletoon artwork will also be displayed on approximately two million popcorn chicken boxes, along with a password which can be used to get bonus points in the online game.
