Vectra to seek sponsors for Canadian homeless soccer team

The Vectra Marketing Group of Toronto has been retained to develop a sponsorship program to help send a Canadian soccer team to the third annual Homeless World Cup in Edinburgh, Scotland. The international tournament, initiated by the Association of Street Newspapers in 2003, aims to focus attention on problem of homelessness and the need for communities to provide support programs. Vectra will solicit support from Canadian corporate sponsors to "ensure that Canada's team competes with dignity and distinction," according to the agency. Previous tournaments have been held in Graz, Austria and Gothenburg, Sweden, drawing teams of homeless soccer players from 24 countries. This year's event will take place in July
