The Toronto-based Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada has issued a call for entries for its first Sponsorship Marketing Awards. The awards will recognize Canadian companies that have effectively used sponsorship marketing to meet business objectives. The judging panel will consider entries in English or French in four categories: Sports, Arts & Entertainment, Cause and Special Interest. "It's important the industry recognizes that sponsorship marketing is not just about how much money you spend or how broad the public awareness, but how efficient and effective that investment is for your business," said council chair Jo-Ann McArthur. The deadline for submissions is March 1. The awards will be presented on April 28 in Toronto.
