OneStop signs networking deal with Bell Mobility
By Adnews Staff
Bell Mobility has signed a deal with OneStop Toronto to transmit media content to Toronto subway stations and trains using wireless Internet connections. OneStop is currently installing platform and in-train LCD screens in the Toronto subway system. It is a joint venture between interactive agency Fourth Wall Media, the Toronto Transit Commission and Viacom Outdoor. The new deal makes Bell Mobility the exclusive telecommunications developer for OneStop. The company will build the network that will carry the content. The first platform-based screens go into service in a number of high-traffic stations this month. The in-train screens will be rolled out beginning in the spring. In December, CHUM Television signed a deal with OneStop to provide news, sports and weather updates for the system. Participating advertisers will include Sears Canada, Pfizer, Ford Canada, Nokia, Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell. OneStop estimates that the screens will reach approximately 850,000 commuters per day.
