Columbia Brewery begins ski resort label promotion
By Adnews Staff
The Columbia Brewery of Creston, BC will release a special series of Kokanee beer bottles this week promoting British Columbia mountain resorts. Approximately 12 million bottles of the beer will bear back labels describing local ski mountains: Whistler Blackcomb, Panorama, Sun Peaks Resort, Fernie, Big White Ski Resort, Mount Washington and Powder King. The labels will also promote two Alberta resorts: Lake Louise and Marmot Basin. The labels list each resort's vertical drop, average snowfall and number of runs. "As B.C.'s mountain brewery, we're celebrating the mountain lifestyle that people associate with Kokanee by showcasing North America's premier ski destinations on our back labels and encouraging beer drinkers to visit them," said brewery manager Dave McAnerney. The special bottles will be distributed nationally.
