Pfizer releases new Benylin commercial
By Adnews Staff
Pfizer Consumer Health has released a new commercial for Benylin Extra Strength cough and cold syrup called "Imagination." The 30-second ad, created by J. Walter Thompson, depicts a doctor instructing a class of medical students on the whooshing sensation that comes from taking the product. The ad then shows a montage of doctors speaking various languages describing the same effect. "'Whoosh' is shorthand for the efficacy of Benylin," said Pfizer senior cough and cold brand manager Peter Rodriguez. "It simplifies the benefit and makes it easy for Canadians to understand how this treatment works, especially within such a cluttered category." The ad broke on Jan. 10 and will run nationally on networks and specialty channels until March 25. It will be supported by floor decals in the cough and cold aisles of major drugstores during that time.
