SODISCO-HOWDEN RENEWS CONTRACT WITH ARMADA

The Sodisco-Howden Group has renewed the contract of Montreal-based Armada to handle advertising for its two hardware store chains, Pro and Ace. Armada pitched for the Ace portion of the account with Axmith McIntyre Wicht of Toronto. Three other Quebec-based agencies were also considered. "Armada and its partner stood out as the right team for our business," said Normand Cyr, director of marketing for Sodisco-Howden. "They clearly have the best understanding of our industry and the environment our two national banners compete in." Armada began working for Sodisco-Howden in January of 2001, when it won the national Pro Hardware account. In October of 2003 the agency was hired to introduce the Ace Hardware name in Quebec.
